FBI Science Stuff Can Be REALLY Interesting!

             Hello people! I'm back again to blog about the science behind the FBI. Everybody knows all about the fancy gadgets on shows like Bones and NCIS. And how in court they present their findings with such certainty. Well no! That's not true! Well yes the forensic stuff is true. Such as the fingerprint comparison, bite mark comparison, and bullet casing comparison. But how accurate is it? Really? And when the evidence is oversold court how many innocent people go to jail or worse? But in the past decade changes in the forensic field has brought newer more accurate methods. One of them is called DNA phenotyping. As the name says, it takes DNA  and conjures up a physical likeness of the person who left the sample behind. Including traits such as geographic ancestry, eye and natural hair color, and even a possible shape for facial features. Another method is using CT scanners to allow doctors to preform virtual autopsies and find out more than standard autopsies. And researchers are studying whether bacteria on corpses can provide a more accurate clock to when death occured. Isn't that so cool!! Feel free to comment.
